Maize is overrated — Embrace small grains

Small grains are superfoods. Compared to maize and rice, they offer a superior value proposition by way of nutrition, climate resilience, and preservation of soil integrity. In Africa, Asia and other parts of the Global South, there can be no sustainable food security in the absence of millet and sorghum.
